- Question: My remote is not working. How do I perform the remote test to see if my remote is functioning properly?
There are two ways to test the remote control:


If your remote control failed the remote test, the remote then is not function properly. You will be able to purchase the original remote control through our customer support line at 1-877-288-3667 (Monday-Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM EST.) Please have both of your model & serial numbers ready before contacting our support team.
- Question: How do I program the universal remote to work with my product?Where can I get the remote codes?
Answer: Since we do not provide support for other manufacture product, please contact your remote manufacture, cable providers or third party online resources to obtain the remote codes.
- Question: It says my HDMI connection is in "Unsupported Format". What should I do?
Answer:

You may see this message especially during timer recording when you have more than 1 HDMI cable connected to the television from your recorder and from the external tuner. This connection type is only compatible with one-touch recording not timer recording. Please make sure to select HDMI input channel by pressing the [INPUT SELECT]/[SOURCE] button on the original remote control.

In order to resolve this issue during timer recording, the HDMI cable needs to be substituted with the Composite (red, white and yellow) cable from you recorder to the television. Also, make sure to select the A/V input channel by pressing the [INPUT SELECT] /[SOURCE] button on the original remote control.
- Question: How come I receive bad picture when my recorder is connected through tuner of unit, but see good pictures when connected directly to the TV?
Answer: This problem is related to connection issue. Make sure all the connection from the external tuner and your recorder are connected correctly and securely to the television.
- Question: My unit would not power back on after the power outage. What else can I do?
Answer: Unplug the device's power cord for 30 minutes and plug it back in. Or try a different electrical wall outlet.
- Question: Is the initial setup necessary to operate the recorder?
Answer: Yes, initial setup is required to be done in order to fully access to the functions. Please refer to your owner's manual for more detail.
- Question: My clock is set in advance but it is not changing time. What else can I do?
Answer: Make sure the auto clock option is tunred off by going into the setup menu and manually adjust the clock. Everytime unit is unlug for more than 30 seconds, the clock needs to be reset.
- Question: I am not able to view any picture nor hear any sound. What else can I do?
Answer: It cound be the connection issue. Make sure to verify your connection and you can refer to the owner's manual for more detail. Check to see if all the electrical power cord are plug in correctly. Also, make sure you are on the correct input channel in order to playback or record.
- Question: Cable company switched to digital now and I receive no picures. What should I do?
Answer: Verify your connection and contact your cable provider for more information.
- Question: How do I get rid of the black bars in my display?
Answer: The black bar only come in depending the signal you are currently watching, so may need to adjust the picture size with your television set, or with the external device. Please check with the display setting with you external device or television set.
- Question: I am unable to locate the input channel on my TV which is made by other manufacturer. What else can I do?
Answer: Find the original remote control to your TV made by other manufacturer and continue pressing the input/source button on the remote until you see the image. If you lost the remote for your TV, you may be able to find the Input/Source button on the actual TV.
Below is the input channel list for common TV brands. If you are still not able to find the correct input channel, please refer to the owner's manual or contact the support team for your TV.

- Question: What are all these error messages mean?
Below is the error code list and you will be able to find the meaning for each error message:

- Question: I have already set the timer recording but the unit will not record. What should I do?
Answer: Verify all the connectionfirst. Power outage will reset the unit and re-programming all the setting is required. Also, make sure to press the [TIMESET] button or [T-SET] button.
- Question: I followed the instruction in the manual but how come I was still not able to finalize the disc?
Answer: Before you follow the finalizing instruction in the owner's manual, please press [STOP] first.
- Question: Can I edit my discs which I have already finalized?
Answer: You will only be able edit the rewrittable discs even after you have finalized them.
- Question: Is it possible to record onto Dual Layer (DL) disc?
Answer: No, it is not possible to record onto DL discs.
- Question: Am I able to dub (record) my recording in a high speed from DVD to HDD?
Answer: No, you will not be able to do so. However, you will be able to dub from HDD to DVD in High Speed.
- Question: What is the maximum recording time for a single program?
Answer: The maximum recording time is 12 hours for one program. If the recording time exceeds 12 hours for one program, the unit will stop recording.
This error message will show on the screen if the recorded program is longer than 12 hours. - Question: How many hours can I record onto DVD using different recording modes that record more than what DVD can hold?
Answer: Default is 2 hours per disc. However, you will be able to adjust the recording mode up to 6 hours maximum.
- Question: My program cannot be recorded in +VR Mode. What should I do?
Answer: Your desired program might be copy right protected. Please refer to your cable provider to seek more information on copy protected programs.
- Question: Can I merge the already separated titles back after I divided them?
Answer: No, once the title is divided onto separated ones, they cannot be merged back.
- Question: How come I am not able to convert up the resolution from 480 to 1080?
Answer: The up conversion is only for DVDs. Other factors like video signal and different media played may affect the conversion.
- Question: How come I am not able to access to the setup menu and other DVD features?
Answer: In order to fully access to the menu and DVD features, you need to use the Composite (red, white and yellow) cable connection. If your television does not have the composite input jacks, you are required to purchase the RF modulator.
- Question: Why aren't my discs playing?
Answer: Please make sure the discs are the recommended disc. You will be able to find out more compatible disc information in your owner's manual. Discs that have non-recommended region code would not be able to be played back either. The desired discs have to be in region "1" or "All".
- Question: How come I am not able to record?
Answer:
1. Make sure the unit is connected correctly from the recorder to the RF modulator (if you have one) then to the TV. Check to see if you are on the correct input channel.
2. Check to see whether the discs you are using is recordable or recommended. Please refer to your owner's manual for more details.
3.Some burnt PC or other DVD recorder discs may not be compatible with our unit.
- Question:: Am I able to edit the title images for my recordings?
Answer: You will be able to edit the title images for your DVD recordings, but you will not be able to do so for the HDD.
