
Digital Video Disc Recorder with Video Cassette Recorder (With/Without Tuner)
- Question: My remote is not working. How do I perform the remote test to see if my remote is functioning properly?
Answer: There are two ways to test the remote control:


If your remote control failed the remote test, the remote then is not function properly. You will be able to purchase the original remote control through our customer support line at 1-877-288-3667 (Monday-Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM EST.) Please have both of your model & serial numbers ready before contacting our support team.
- Question: How do I program the universal remote to work with my product? Where can I get the remote codes?
Answer: Since we do not provide support for other manufacture product, please contact your remote manufacture, cable providers or third party online resources to obtain the remote codes.
- Question: I would like to use the Composite (red, white and yellow) cable connection, but my tv does not have the Composite input jacks. What should I do?
Answer: In this case, you may want to purchase a RF modulator, which is a signal converter, and connect the modulator to your television.
- Question: How come I receive bad picture when my recorder is connected through tuner of unit, but see good pictures when connected directly to the TV?
Answer: This problem is related to connection issue. Make sure all the connection from the external tuner and your recorder are connected correctly and securely to the television.
- Question: How do I connect my HDMI cable, if my television set does not have a HDMI connection just a DVI?
Answer: You must purchase a DVI to HDMI crossover cable, and connect that from your DVI to our HDMI connection on our unit. This type of connection will usually also require a separate set of composite audio connections, so you may received audio.
- Question: It says my HDMI connection is in "Unsupported Format". What should I do?

You may see this message especially during timer recording when you have more than 1 HDMI cable connected to the television from your recorder and from the external tuner. This connection type is only compatible with one-touch recording not timer recording. Please make sure to select HDMI input channel by pressing the [INPUT SELECT]/[SOURCE] button on the original remote control.

In order to resolve this issue during timer recording, the HDMI cable needs to be substituted with the Composite (red, white and yellow) cable from you recorder to the television. Also, make sure to select the A/V input channel by pressing the [INPUT SELECT] /[SOURCE] button on the original remote control.
- Question: Cable company switched to digital now and I receive no picures. What should I do?
Answer: Verify your connection and contact your cable provider for more information.
- Question: My clock is set in advance but it is not changing time. What else can I do?

Answer: Make sure the auto clock option is tunred off by going into the setup menu and manually adjust the clock. Everytime when the unit is unlugged for more than 30 seconds, the clock needs to be reset.
- Question: I am unable to locate the input channel on my TV which is made by other manufacturer. What else can I do?
Answer: Find the original remote control to your TV made by other manufacture and continue pressing the input/source button on the remote until you see the image. If you lost the remote for your TV, you may be able to find the Input/Source button on the actual TV.
Below is the input channel list for common TV brands. If you are still not able to find the correct input channel, please refer to the owner's manual or contact the support team for your TV.

- Question: Why am I getting a recording error?

Answer: Each error message shows the restriction based on different scenario. For example, if it cannot record in the +VR mode due to copy protected issue, you can contact your cable provider for further information.

- Question: I am not able to record (dub). What should I do?
Answer:
1. Check to see if your unit have a build-in tuner. If not, you need to purchase and connect the unit to the external tuner in order to record.
2. Make sure the unit is first connected correctly from external tuner to the recorder then to the TV.
3. Make sure you are in the correct input channel. If you connect to the back of the unit please select L1 input on the recorder's remote control. If you connect to the front, please select L2 instead.
4. Check to see whether the discs you are using is recordable or recommended. Please refer to your owner's manual for more details.
5.Check to see if the v-chip setting is turned off. Please refer to owner's manual for more details. Also, verify the setting from the external device which you are recording from.
6.Some burnt PC or other DVD recorder discs may not be compatible with our unit.
7. You can only record the channels that are on the external tuner.
- Question: I followed the instruction for dubbing but was still not able to record. Am I missing anything?
Answer: Below is the alternative way for dubbing. Default setting is 2 hours. If the VHS is longer than 2 hours, you need to press the [REC MODE] button repeadly until desired recording time appears on the screen before you press the dubbing button.
- Question: I have already set the timer recording but the unit will not record. What should I do?
Answer: Verify all the connectionfirst. Power outage will reset the unit and re-programming all the setting is required. Also, make sure to press the [TIMESET] button or [T-SET] button.
- Question: My program cannot be recorded in +VR Mode. What should I do?
Answer: Your desired program might be copy right protected. Please refer to your cable provider to seek more information on copy protected programs.
- Question: How come I am not able to playback an edited DVD in another unit?
Answer: Make sure to finalize the disc first before play it back in ther other unit.
- Question: Can I edit my discs which I have already finalized?
Answer: You will only be able edit the rewrittable discs even after you have finalized them.
- Question: Is the 1-16x disc type compatible with the unit? Is it the same as the individual disc type like the 4x, 8x or 16x?
Answer: The discs with the speed of 1-16x may not be compatible with our unit and 1-16x is not the same as the individual disc type. We recommend using the individual disc speed types of 4x, 8x or 16x for the best performance.
- Question: I followed the instruction in the manual but was still not able to finalize the disc. What else should I do?
Answer: Before you follow the finalizing instruction in the owner's manual, please press [STOP] first.
- Question: Am I able to record one channel and watch another channel at the same time?
Answer: No, you will not be able to do so.
- Question: Why aren't my discs playing?

Answer: Please verify to see if all the connection is correct and make sure the discs are the recommended disc. You will be able to find out more about compatible disc information in your owner's manual. Discs that have non-recommended region code would not be able to be played back either. The desired discs have to be in region "1" or "All".
- Question: How come my recorder is making loud and high pitch noise while playing?
Answer: Your recorder will need to be serviced. Please referred to locating Authorized Service Center (ASC) under "Gerneral Information" drop-down selection.
- Question: My cassette tape does not eject. What should I do?
Answer: Unplug the power cord for 10 to 30 seconds and plug it back in. If the tape still does not eject, the unit will need to be serviced to have the tape removed.
